Assigning bibs in bulk

Location: Race Management → Participants → Athletes → Bulk Actions (labelled Actions on phones) → Assign Bibs…

The Assign Bib Numbers dialog lets you number all athletes at once.

Options

Starting Number — The first bib number to assign. Defaults to 1. Numbers are assigned sequentially, automatically skipping any already-taken numbers.

Assignment Mode:

• Assign to athletes without bib only (default) — Only assigns bibs to athletes who don't have one yet. Athletes with existing bibs are left unchanged. Use this after late sign-ups.
• Reset all and reassign — Clears all existing bib numbers first, then assigns fresh numbers to everyone.

Order By:

• Last Name (default) — Alphabetical by last name, then first name
• First Name — Alphabetical by first name, then last name
• Registration Date — In the order athletes registered (oldest first)
• Division — Alphabetical by division name, then last name within each division
• Heat — In heat start-time order, then last name within each heat. Athletes not assigned to a heat are sorted to the end.

A preview shows the total number of athletes to be assigned and the expected start/end bib range before you click Assign Bibs.

Editing an individual bib number

To change a single athlete's bib:

1. Click the athlete's name in the Athletes table (or open the row's … menu and choose Edit…). The Edit registration drawer opens.
2. Find the Bib field at the top of the drawer.
3. Enter the new bib number and save.

Notes

• Bib numbers are stored as strings, so leading zeros are preserved if entered (e.g. "007").
• Bulk assign uses integer ordering internally to skip taken numbers cleanly, and never assigns numbers above 9999. If it runs out of numbers, a warning tells you how many athletes didn't get a bib.
• There is no validation preventing duplicate bibs if you set them manually — the bulk assign tool skips duplicates automatically.
