Stages & Events
Define your race format with stages (sections) and events (runs and stations), each scored for time, max reps, or max distance.
What are stages and events?
Stages and events define the structure of your race format.
- Stages are top-level sections (e.g. "Main Course", "Penalty Workout", "Relay Leg 1"). Each stage groups one or more events.
- Events are the individual activities athletes complete within a stage. Each event is either a Run or a Station (e.g. "SkiErg 1km", "Sled Push 50m", "Wall Balls 75 reps").

Scoring types
Each event is scored in one of three ways, chosen under Scored by in the event editor:
| Scored by | Description | Result entered as |
|---|---|---|
| For time | Split timestamp → duration. Sums into total time (lower is better). | M:SS or H:MM:SS |
| Max reps | Rep count entered after the event. Needs a time cap. | Whole number |
| Max distance | Meters entered after the event. Needs a time cap. | Meters |
Creating stages and events
- Click Add stage, enter a stage name (and optional description), and save.
- Inside the stage, click + Add run or + Add station to open the event editor.
- Enter a name, choose Run or Station, and pick how it's Scored by.
- Optionally set Distance / reps with a unit (m, km or reps), Target reps, and a Time cap — athletes over the cap get a DNF split.
- Click Save to add it to the stage.
Each event row also has a ··· menu with Edit, Duplicate, Insert after, and Delete. Each stage's ··· menu has Duplicate stage, Apply template, and Delete stage.
Templates
Instead of building a course event by event, apply a built-in template:
- HYROX Simulation — 8 × Run 1K alternating with the 8 HYROX stations, all scored for time.
- HYROX Conditioning Test — 5 max-effort intervals (Rowing, Burpee Broad Jumps, Reverse Lunges, SkiErg, Wall Balls).
Use ··· → Apply template at the top of the page to add a template as a new stage, or Insert from template at the bottom of a stage to add its events to that stage.
Reordering
- Stages — Drag the stage by its handle (⋮⋮) to change its position in the race sequence.
- Events within a stage — Drag the event by its handle (⋮⋮) to change its order within the stage.
Order matters: it controls how events are displayed on the public race page and in the event results entry grid.
Example: HYROX Simulation
A typical HYROX setup might look like this (the HYROX Simulation template creates it for you):
Stage: Course
- Run 1km — For time
- SkiErg 1km — For time
- Run 1km — For time
- Sled Push 50m — For time
- Run 1km — For time
- Sled Pull 50m — For time
- Run 1km — For time
- Burpee Broad Jump 80m — For time
- Run 1km — For time
- Rowing 1km — For time
- Run 1km — For time
- Farmers Carry 200m — For time
- Run 1km — For time
- Sandbag Lunges 100m — For time
- Run 1km — For time
- Wall Balls 100 reps — For time
Total time + penalty time = final result.
Notes
- Stages and events created here appear on the Event Results entry page (Results → Event results) and the public race results page.
- Deleting an event also removes all entered results for that event. Deleting a stage deletes all of its events.
