Can I Run Free Events?
Yes! Free divisions have no platform fee. Mix free and paid divisions in the same race.
Free is really free
Divisions with no entry fee (price = 0) have zero platform fee. Use free divisions for:
- Community events and open competitions
- Volunteer sign-ups
- Spectator or supporter registration
- Kids' races or warm-up events
Mixing free and paid
You can have both free and paid divisions in the same race. For example:
- Pro Division — 500 SEK entry
- Open Division — 300 SEK entry
- Kids Race — Free
- Volunteer — Free
Only paid registrations incur the platform fee (4% + a fixed amount per registration — see Pricing Overview). Free divisions are completely free for both you and the athletes.
Payment setup is still needed to publish
To publish a race, its payment setup must be complete — even if every division is free. Under Race Management → Setup → Payment, either connect a Stripe account or switch the race to RoxRace collects.
Free divisions can always be registered for, even if paid checkout isn't available yet.
