FAQ Updated 16 Oct 2026

How Does Tax Configuration Work?

Configure tax type, rate, and whether tax is included or excluded from displayed prices.

Tax support

RoxRace supports full tax configuration for your races. This is important for organizers who need to charge and report VAT or other sales taxes.

Configuration options

Go to Race Management → Setup → Payment and find the Tax settings section. Turn on Enable tax, then configure:

  • Tax type — VAT, GST, Sales Tax, or Other
  • Tax rate (%) — The percentage to apply (e.g. 25% for Swedish VAT)
  • VAT/GST number — Your organization's tax identification number, shown on receipts
  • Tax included in base price — Whether your division prices already include tax

How it works

  • Tax included: The displayed price already includes tax. Athletes pay the exact listed price.
  • Tax excluded: Tax is calculated and added on top at checkout. Athletes see the base price + tax.

If the race passes the platform fee on to athletes (see Fee Handling Options), the Service fee line is taxed at the same rate as the registration.

Per-race configuration

Tax settings are configured per race, so you can have different tax settings for events in different countries or jurisdictions.

To avoid entering the same tax settings every time, set them once as organization defaults under Payments & fees — they're applied to new races automatically. See Organisation Payment Defaults.
