Publishing & Public URLs

Control what is publicly visible — publish your race, show the startlist and heats, enable the live dashboard, and share a private preview link.

Overview

The Public URLs page is your control panel for what athletes and spectators can see publicly. Three independent toggles let you publish the right things at the right time.

Location: Race Management → Public → Public URLs

The race menu also shows whether the race and startlist are published, with a Publish shortcut that brings you to this page.

Race page

Toggle Race published to publish or unpublish your race.

  • Published — Your race appears on roxrace.com, athletes can find it and register.
  • Unpublished — The race is hidden from the public. Only you and your organization's members can access it (and anyone with the private preview link).

Publishing requires your race setup to be complete: race details (title, race type, venue name and address, country, start and end), organizer info (contact name and email), and payment setup. Until then the switch is disabled and a warning lists what to finish first.

Startlist & heats

Toggle Startlist & heats published to control whether the Startlist and Heats tabs are visible on the public race page. This switch is only available once the race itself is published.

Turn this on once you have finalized heat assignments and are ready to share start times with athletes. You can turn it off again if you need to make changes without athletes seeing incomplete data.

Live dashboard

Toggle Live dashboard public to let anyone with the link view the real-time spectator view.

Enable this on race day. The dashboard updates automatically and shows active heats, recent finishes, and current standings — ideal for a big screen at the venue and for remote spectators. See Public Race Pages & Live Dashboard for more.

The dashboard URL is shown on this page so you can copy it for display or broadcast.

Private preview link

Before publishing, you can share your race privately with a token-based link — for example to let your team review the race page, or to share with sponsors.

  • The link works even when the race is unpublished
  • Anyone with the link can view the race page and register for the race before it's published
  • Click Regenerate to invalidate the old link and create a new one — useful if you shared it with someone who should no longer have access

Customize your race URL

Every race gets an automatic page URL when it's created, built from the race title, venue, city, and country. You can replace it with your own on this page.

  • Edit the URL under Edit URL, then click Save — a confirmation dialog shows exactly which link is about to stop working before you commit.
  • Only letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores are allowed (at least 3 characters). The URL is saved in lowercase.
  • The URL can be changed anytime, including after the race is published.

Changing it breaks the old link immediately — there's no redirect from the previous URL, so avoid changing it once you've shared it (on social media, printed materials, QR codes, etc.).

URLs

All public URLs for your race are shown on this page — race page, organizer page (if your organizer page is turned on), startlist and heats (once published), live dashboard, and the finisher photo page (with a QR poster download). Use the copy buttons to share them directly. Finisher photos are set up in Media & Branding.
