Rulebook & Terms
Configure a rulebook, terms of participation, and a liability/refund policy — and require athletes to accept them before registering.
Overview
The Rulebook & Terms section has three independent parts you can configure for your race: a rulebook, terms of participation, and a liability & refund policy. Each is managed separately, and the terms and the policy can each be made mandatory independently.

Rulebook
Describe the rules of your race — course rules, equipment requirements, penalties, disqualification criteria, etc. You can add:
- Rulebook link — a URL to your full rulebook (e.g. a PDF). Athletes see a Download rulebook link.
- Rulebook notes — short text shown directly to athletes.
Both appear in the Rules & race-day details section of your public race page's Overview.
No acceptance required — it is informational only.
Terms of Participation
Turn on Require acceptance of custom terms to add your terms of participation. The text field appears once the switch is on. When it's enabled:
- A Terms & Policies step is added to the registration flow
- Athletes must check the box before they can proceed to payment
- The terms text is displayed in a read-only box under the checkbox
There's no display-only option — terms you add here are always required to be accepted. Terms also appear as a collapsible section under Rules & race-day details on the race page.
Liability & Refund Policy
Your liability waiver and refund terms. Turn on Require custom liability and refund policy to add it — it works the same way as Terms of Participation and can be required independently. You can require both documents in the same registration flow if needed.
Registration flow behavior
If either Terms or Liability Policy is required, a Terms & Policies step is shown just before payment, with a checkbox for each enabled document. If neither is required, the step is skipped entirely and athletes go straight to payment.
Athletes you register manually as the organizer (see Registering an Athlete Manually) do not go through the terms step.
